Each Reiseikian is born with a predetermined ability to control a particular element. They can only control that one element and when that power begins to develop at a young age this is known as an ‘awakening’ period. When the individual has passed the awakening phase their body will form a tattoo on their body (size and location vary) that reflects his or her particular ability (i.e. Sagi Maru has water elemental control and has a wave-like rune tattoo on inner forearm). The tattoo represents that the individual has reached an ‘awakened’ state.

The basis of an individual’s power is measured in how much they can manipulate their particular element. Ki can be combined to form and manipulate certain aspects of the elemental control, but Reiseikians largely rely on their body’s natural ability to connect with his or her element. The more powerful individuals are able to accomplish severe manipulation which can incorporate the production of more of a specific element using natural properties (i.e. creating more ice by freezing near by water). A person with this level power is considered a supreme master of their element and there are few that are able to obtain such a state.

Because most Reiseikians only possess normal fighting abilities and are not very adept at close-range combat, many carry other weapons and use them to aid in close-range battle. Some weapons are used to focus their elemental strikes as well and enhance their close-range combat skills.

Life Span: On average, the lifespan of an Reiseikian is several hundreds of years, usually about five hundred years. Most of their lifetime is spent with an appearance of in their late twenties and early thirties, usually beginning to age most rapidly in the last thirty years of their lives. Their younger years tends to accelerate at the average rate of a human, until their powers have awakened and then there is a slight decrease.

Reiseiki Planet Terrain: The planet itself is a lush land filled with jungles and spiraling cities. Half of the planet is covered in a freezing field of ice, the result of a civil war on the planet many years ago. Kurosugi, a rogue Reiseikian with the ability to control the element of ice, tried to take over the world. Many of the inhabitants of Reiseiki were killed in this battle until Faye Ichi, a fire elementalist, was able to put an end to Kurosugi’s reign of terror and lock him away in the depths of ice that he had created. The place where he is sealed away is considered a forbidden portion of the planet and he has long been believed dead.

Reiseikian Characters

Faye Ichi: Known as the “Supreme Master of the Fire Elements”. She was the first Reiseiki to hold a General’s position in the Jade Guard and the only woman to ever hold that position as well. She defeated Kurosugi at the battle on Reiseiki and sealed him away forever. During her time on the Jade Guard she was charged with the guarding of Ansara Tousun, the Guardian of Dimensions. She was killed in battle and succeeded by Sagi Maru, a fellow Reiseikian. Ansara named her child after her.

Sagi Maru: Second Reiseikian to hold the General’s position on the Jade Guard. Highly respected and loved by his peers. Charged with the responsibility of ensuring Ansara’s safety as well as organizing and commanding the Jade Guard at all times. Water elemental control Reiseikian. His best friend was killed during the battle at Reiseiki with Kurosugi before he joined the Jade Guard and rose within the ranks.

Kurosugi: Rogue Reiseikian with vast powers and abilities with the element of ice. He was heralded as the supreme master of the race, having more power then any others before him, until he fell into evil ways and turned against his people. He tried to take over the planet but was stopped by the people with Faye Ichi’s help.

Faye Tousun: Named after Faye Ichi by his mother, Ansara Tousun. Nearly died when only a few years old and was saved by Sagi Maru using a ‘life force transfer’ technique. With this technique, special to Reiseikians, an individual is able to literally inject their ki or life force into another individual to keep them alive during critical periods. Because of this transfer and the fact that Faye was not born with any Reiseikian traits and was very young at the time (pre-awakened phase), there is chance that he may inherit small elemental manipulation abilities.
