Season 5
Two and a half years have passed since the Z senshi saved the world where Vale and Kata were from. During this time period many of the people in the Z senshi's family left their immediate family and went to pursue life on their own in various parts of the world. Then one day the world seemed to go quiet. This was because there was a gathering of four people made from the pure essences of Hatred, Anger, Jealousness, and Fear. All of these four people were plotting aganist one of the Z senshi named Phoenix. The four tried to catch Phoenix, but were unsuccessful, and instead collected the Dragonballs in order to wish that the world be split into two: with all the "pure" people on one side and all the "dark" people on the other side. The Z senshi were warned before hand that this was going to happen and had to escape to the nightmare planet (from Season 2) in order to avoid being on the planet when it split. When the group felt they were ready to go back and help save the Earth, they left for the "dark" half of the planet. Vegita was able to defeat the most powerful of the four essences and the rest of the Z senshi were able to defeat the other essences. When the four essences were all dead, the world was brought back together and made whole once again.
